Overview
Raymore is a city in northwestern Cass County, Missouri, at the junction of Interstate 49 and Route 58, between the I-49 and Route 291 corridors. Named for railroad figures George Rea and Henry Moore, it was incorporated in 1877 as the railroad came through.
It's one of the metro's faster-growing cities — the Census Bureau estimated 26,633 residents as of 2025, up about 16% since 2020. Its historic center, 'Original Town' around Washington Street, was reinvigorated by the 2019–2021 redevelopment of T.B. Hanna Station, a park with a depot pavilion, stage, playground, sprayground, and a seasonal outdoor ice rink.

Raymore is predominantly detached suburban single-family housing with active new construction — Census-derived profiles put roughly three-quarters of units as detached single-family, and more than half built since 2000. Older Original Town homes sit alongside subdivisions built from the 1990s onward, with builders offering ranch, reverse-1.5-story, 1.5-story, and two-story plans in developments like Creekside Ranch and Madison Valley.

Schools
Raymore is served by the Raymore-Peculiar R-II School District (Ray-Pec), which reports more than 6,000 students across 14 sites; Ray-Pec High School is located south of the city in Peculiar.
Attendance boundaries are assigned by address, don't necessarily match city limits, and can be revised, so verify the current assignment for any property directly with the district.
Getting Around
Raymore's main regional route is I-49 (north–south toward Kansas City), with Route 58 the main east–west commercial road at the interchange and Route 291 along the eastern side toward Lee's Summit. Central Lee's Summit is only about 12 miles — roughly 20 to 25 minutes — and downtown Kansas City about 25 miles, a 30- to 40-minute drive via I-49.
Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is farther, roughly 43 miles on the metro's north side.

Parks & Recreation
The city reports more than 285 acres of parkland and over 20 miles of trails. Recreation Park (about 80 acres) is the largest, with a baseball complex, skate park, fishing pond, loop trail, and the indoor Raymore Activity Center, while Memorial Park adds active and passive space and the Arboretum Trail.
Dining & Shopping
The main commercial spine runs along Route 58 and Foxwood Drive around the I-49 interchange, with national restaurants and retailers; the city's plan directs higher-intensity commercial toward the I-49, Route 58, and North Cass Parkway corridors.
Events & Community
Raymore Festival in the Park is held at Memorial Park, and in winter the city hosts the Mayor's Tree Lighting and Christmas Tree Trail at T.B. Hanna Station alongside the seasonal opening of The Rink outdoor ice rink.
